Consumer
Rights Protection Society (OZPP) appealed to the Federal Antimonopoly
Service against the actions of the Sochi 2014 Organizing
Committee. As reported by a
REGNUM in
the press service of society on February 6, the reason for treatment
led to numerous consumer complaints, disgruntled by the common
organization of the Olympic Games, the order ticket, admission to the
Olympics, infringement of consumer rights, violation of
constitutional rights, restrictions on the use of bank cards and
other abuses by the organizers of the Winter Olympics.
The
appeal before the FAS OZPP are five points of possible violations of
consumer rights. In particular, consumer advocates say illegal
what Organizing Committee feels entitled to refuse to issue a
so-called "passport fan" without explanation and does not
provide citizens with an opportunity to challenge the decision of the
organizers. Human rights defenders also point to the fact that
the Organizing Committee accepts payment only with a certain type of
bank cards - this, according to OZPP restricts consumers' rights and
violates the rights of competition from other market players. In
addition, tickets are non-refundable, except for force majeure.
In
a statement filed with the Federal Antimonopoly Service OZPP requests
to inspect the above circumstances and bring the perpetrators (both
legal and physical) to the statutory liability.
